Update
SB781 Outdoor Lighting Regulation on Public Waterways will be heard next Wednesday morning Feb. 12 @ 7:30 AM in House Room D in the Virginia General Assembly Building.

CCT committee will be a major hurdle for SB781. Historically CCT will oppose any bill that has significant opposition. The usual suspects will most likely come forward to speak against the bill. Without your help, the opposition will likely be successful in crushing SB781.

Please, take the time to contact the CCT to ask that they vote for SB 781. If anyone can come to the hearing to support it in person, this would be make a huge difference.

Dear Delegate xxxxxxxxxxx,

I am writing to you today to ask you to support SB781 - Regulation of outdoor lighting near public waterways.

This bill will give localities in Virginia the much needed authority to regulate outdoor lighting near public waterways. Bright unshielded fixtures producing glare are a serious boating safety issue that requires immediate attention. Please support SB781 and improve boating safety in Virginia.

Thank you for your time and service to the citizens in your district and the great State of Virginia.

Sincerely,

Name, Address, and Phone Number
